A big thanks to BlogTO for featuring my Day 2 outfit on their street style roundup yesterday. I drew inspiration from the acclaimed Celine Fall 13 collection; the luscious grey and navy wool coats, flared skirts and army green leather boots were made for me. My version plays on the dropped hemline silhouette with a chunky cropped knit sweater. When wearing this season’s longer skirt you want to avoid looking dwarfish by giving the appearance of elongated legs. The hem should graze the leg exactly where your calf indents to meet your knee – that’s the sweet spot. Don’t be afraid to pair a long, flared skirt with a chunky ankle boot. Perhaps counterintuitive, but it works.

I picked winter white as my base colour and played with black, blue and green accents. A horizontal stripe adds a touch of Viviana Volpicella to the look. I usually don’t wear earrings AND sunglasses together, especially if they are both statement pieces, but here the simplicity of my outfit actually sets the stage for chunkier accessories. My forest green, Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. is a playful splash, giving the impression that I grabbed it on my way out in a rush and it just-so-happened to work. An accidental fashion decision that was secretly premeditated.

We made it to New York City, the big apple. The place where dreams are made of. I absolutely need a few days in this town to recharge my fashion inspiration. I’m like a kid in a candy store, drooling at this fashion feast. Before I dig in, I thought I’d post some pics of my own. I’m wearing up and coming Toronto-based fashion label, BAZZUL. Creative director, Felicia Burke, was so sweet to dress me for Fashion Week – big thanks! Love reppin’ my Toronto brands in NYC. The dress was perfect for an 8am flight, lunch at the Soho House, straight to the Karen Walker show and then vagabonding all day with JR Bernstein along the High Line and dinner with the Kenton Magazine crew. I paired it with my new Miista boots from where they are available for pre-order. I added a “Dazzling Blue” accent by the means of a Wilfred sweater tied around my waist. The colour, by the way, is heralded as the lovechild of Cobalt blue and Spring 2014. #thankmelater  Read the rest of this entry »

Just sharing a pic snapped at the Walk-In Closet X Shoppalu Pop Up Shop launch party on Thursday night at The Oz Studios – try saying all that in one breath! Here I am wearing BAZZUL with the designer’s cousin and Shoppalu founder, Janice Liu. I discovered this brand at the beginning of the summer season and can’t wait to work with creative director, Felicia Burke. Her designs are the perfect match for a Eurotrash girl. Some of her pieces are available at the pop up shop happening right now until Aug 28!

Thursday night in Toronto just got better. I’ll be DJ’ing the official launch party for this pop up shop hosted by Shoppalu in collabo with all these great people: Walk-in Closet, and Kenton Magazine. Something old and something new, vintage meets all kinds of cool finds. So come shop, get a photo op with all of us bloggers-cum-DJs and enjoy what’s left of summer!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Feliz Boxing Day. All my west coast readers need to hit up the Shoppalu pop-up shop happening in Vancouver this week. Tell them Eurotrash sent you. XOXO. Hope you’re all keeping warm and toasty!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Shoppalu X Miracle Thieves event last week. I know some of you got some really great vintage finds, despite having to strip down to your knickers in the stockroom, ahem, Katherine and Rhena! My friends are definitely resourceful when it comes to a pair of striped shorts at 75% off.

You are all invited to the opening party for Shoppalu X Miracle Thieves pop-up shop that runs from Thursday, Sept 20th until Saturday, Sept 22, 2012. Opening night will feature fab vintage finds at 25% off as well as music (I’ll probably be DJing) and lots of drinks, cocktails, etc. SS2013 goodies will also be on sale for 75% off on opening night, and 50% off the rest of the days. Pre-Spring shopping, anyone?

Shoppalu is a huge supporter of my blog, we’ve collaborated for over a year. Theirs is an online boutique that sells curated vintage goods as well as pieces from Graham & Spencer, Tiger of Sweden, Velvet, One Teaspoon, Free People, Handsome Clothing Co… to name a few. They cater to ladies with a unique sense of style, not afraid to incorporate something other than trends into their aesthetic, or perhaps, making the trends. Bold and beautiful.

Miracle Thieves is an ongoing community space on Crawford Street that continuously evolves. A social enterprise, is what they call it. Supporting artists, creative people and fashion, it truly is a landmark for Toronto’s creative community.

So that’s all you need to know. Hope to see you all there!

So I admit, in this photo I was super super hungover after an unexpected night out on the town. After 4 glasses of O.J., 3 advils and a cup of coffee, I made it to Mother’s Day brunch. Here’s what I wore: vintage blue silk top from Shoppalu; Zara floral pants; GEOX ballet flats; tweed blazer from Club Monaco circa 2003; and my Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip M.A.C. Ta-Da!

Here are some more photos from our lovely day spent in Yorkville. We had brunch at La Societe and it was delicious, as per usual. FYI every Thursday oysters are $1 at the bar starting at 5pm til close – it’s worth checking out!

Incidentally, today is my mom’s birthday. Wishing her a great one. Love you, mom! xo

My Handsome Clothing sweater, new Links of London skull bracelet and old American Eagle jeans I chopped up in ’05

I wasn’t even asked to promote this event. Saturday night I bought a Handsome Clothing sweatshirt at the Shoppalu shopping party and haven’t taken it off since. So, I did some recon and found out that Handsome is teaming up with Mutts & Co., and some other brands including LABEL (which I also really love a lot) for a travelling pop-up shop this weekend. Y’all should check it out.

I highly recommend these Canadian brands, and who knows, you might end up with a comfy sweatshirt just like me.  BOYS, this one’s also for you – there will be beer tastings and gentlemanly cuts/shaves by Maverick.
