Thanks to everyone who came out to the Shoppalu X Miracle Thieves event last week. I know some of you got some really great vintage finds, despite having to strip down to your knickers in the stockroom, ahem, Katherine and Rhena! My friends are definitely resourceful when it comes to a pair of striped shorts at 75% off.
TweetFriends,
You are all invited to the opening party for Shoppalu X Miracle Thieves pop-up shop that runs from Thursday, Sept 20th until Saturday, Sept 22, 2012. Opening night will feature fab vintage finds at 25% off as well as music (I’ll probably be DJing) and lots of drinks, cocktails, etc. SS2013 goodies will also be on sale for 75% off on opening night, and 50% off the rest of the days. Pre-Spring shopping, anyone?
Shoppalu is a huge supporter of my blog, we’ve collaborated for over a year. Theirs is an online boutique that sells curated vintage goods as well as pieces from Graham & Spencer, Tiger of Sweden, Velvet, One Teaspoon, Free People, Handsome Clothing Co… to name a few. They cater to ladies with a unique sense of style, not afraid to incorporate something other than trends into their aesthetic, or perhaps, making the trends. Bold and beautiful.
Miracle Thieves is an ongoing community space on Crawford Street that continuously evolves. A social enterprise, is what they call it. Supporting artists, creative people and fashion, it truly is a landmark for Toronto’s creative community.
So that’s all you need to know. Hope to see you all there!

TweetSo I admit, in this photo I was super super hungover after an unexpected night out on the town. After 4 glasses of O.J., 3 advils and a cup of coffee, I made it to Mother’s Day brunch. Here’s what I wore: vintage blue silk top from Shoppalu; Zara floral pants; GEOX ballet flats; tweed blazer from Club Monaco circa 2003; and my Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip M.A.C. Ta-Da!
Here are some more photos from our lovely day spent in Yorkville. We had brunch at La Societe and it was delicious, as per usual. FYI every Thursday oysters are $1 at the bar starting at 5pm til close – it’s worth checking out!
Incidentally, today is my mom’s birthday. Wishing her a great one. Love you, mom! xo

My Handsome Clothing sweater, new Links of London skull bracelet and old American Eagle jeans I chopped up in ’05
I wasn’t even asked to promote this event. Saturday night I bought a Handsome Clothing sweatshirt at the Shoppalu shopping party and haven’t taken it off since. So, I did some recon and found out that Handsome is teaming up with Mutts & Co., and some other brands including LABEL (which I also really love a lot) for a travelling pop-up shop this weekend. Y’all should check it out.
I highly recommend these Canadian brands, and who knows, you might end up with a comfy sweatshirt just like me. BOYS, this one’s also for you – there will be beer tastings and gentlemanly cuts/shaves by Maverick.
TweetWant to hang with me tomorrow night and shop discounted price on brands like Graham & Spencer, Velvet, One Teaspoon, Alternative Apparel, Mink Pink and lots of vintage stuff, too? PS. Alternative Apparel is one of my favourite staples brand. I’m sharing the invite with all my Toronto-based readers. If you’re available and fashionable, don’t miss this!
On behalf of the girls at Shoppalu, we’re inviting you along to a sangria, shopping and sushi soiree:
When: Saturday, April 14th – 6 pm – 10 pm
Where: 220 Montrose Ave. (Basement)
See you there!

12 Days of Eurotrash – A few weeks ago I was featured on a la mode for all my blogging wonders. With the 15 Minutes of Fame bit came a video interview that I’ve shared above. I had so much fun talking about how I plan on taking over the fashion industry, it seems, but I think I was really just nervous. Do you ever get nervous?
And I say hell yeah.

12 Days of Eurotrash – The time has come to announce the last gift in the Eurotrash gift-ucopia this Christmas and so I decided to do something special instead of the same old shameless self-promotion, sounding like death of a salesman trying to get you to buy knives out of a black nylon shoulder bag with velcro flap. No, if you want to enter the contest I encourage you to do so because there’s really no gimmick to it. I’m giving back and that’s the long and short of it.
Today’s post comes in the form of the Bloggertorial. I’ve coined this term, recently, to denote a series of photos on a blog that are like an editorial. In any case, more stylized than a street style. JR Bernstein and I set out one chilly morning and the following are a product of our labour. It’s a down the rabbit hole kind of mood, Alice. I’m wearing a vintage velvet blazer, BCBG pants, skull necklace by the Beckerman sisters, jade skull necklace by Miz Dragonfly, Jeffrey Campbell Clinic wedges, Claudia Carlotti vintage sunglasses and a vintage polka dot crop top from Shoppalu.com – the next prize in the gift bag comes from them: 50% off gift card to use online! They’ll apply the 50% discount to YOUR ENTIRE INVOICE! ok, i’m sounding gimmicky now. But like seriously, this is pretty sweet considering they carry both vintage and new apparel (like gorgeous stuff from Stylestalker.com – Mmm).

TweetI’ve got dibs on an exclusive chance to purchase StyleStalker SS2012 collection – I’ve invited a few friends along. Austrailian-based clothing company is just for all those pretty bloggers out there. Enjoy the feline frenzy and I’ll enjoy styling the pieces I pick up next week for a blog post in the near future…
