This time around I styled a pair of silky smooth shorts from Michael Eardley’s Spring 2013 collection. Canadian designer, Michael Eardley is the go-to man for pieces with an eclectic, almost nighttime feel. Getting to play with his S/S 2013 collection, Rebirth One, tempted me to style the Khloe dress ($95 CAD, available online) in an edgy day-to-night look. I paired the black summer dress with an organic cotton wrap sweater, honey Ray-Bans, leather boots from Sauvage on Queen W and accessories by LAB by Laura Busony (her Teardrop rings and Rapunzel bracelet). We shot the photos at sunset atop my roof, which has the most amazing views of the city and coincidentally, the sun setting in the west. I wanted to pretend we were in the west coast, USA. Maybe the desert, even. Sand blasting through my sunkissed hair, leather boots to keep my pedicure intact, a squint planted firmly on my face.

Best coffee in the city – Club Sociale in MTL

Working straight from nine-to-five like one of those normal people didn’t stop me from keeping a promise. A promise to fuck off with friends on May 2-4. Like that beat up pair of Havaianas, I’m glad I kept it. We drank in parks, and then drank in more parks. Went for poutine both sober and drunk. Never even saw the old port or riot-ridden downtown. It was like May 1968 as we drove into the city on the eve of laws being passed to make it OK for riot police to beat the shit out of students. Red squares everywhere. Karaoke nights and so many goddamn inside jokes about peg legs, tv shows, and the Rhythm of the Night. Amazing.

I wore a pair of cut-off jeans I made and a silk dress I bought at – perfection.
