Wearing exclusive Smythe x eLUXE tuxedo blazer; $595 CAD.

I must preface this post with an admission. I’m not much of an online shopper, in that, I’m always a bit nervous about purchasing something I haven’t seen or touched before. Which, I believe, is completely normal. However, you won’t find an e-commerce enthusiast who’s as passionate about the changing landscape of consumerism as I am. Needless to say, I had a 15 minute jumping-on-the-bed-athon when eLUXE invited me to peruse their headquarters here in Toronto and get the full personal shopping experience with their lead personal stylist, Jennifer McConville. I brought along my friend, photographer, JR Bernstein, to capture it all with his trusty Fujifilm camera.

This service, by the way, is complimentary for all eLUXE customers – not just crazy bloggers like myself. All you do is send an email to styleme@eluxe.ca – or visit their virtual stylist webpage http://www.eluxe.ca/en/luxeservices/virtual-stylist. The experience starts off with a phone conversation where you confess all your sins – at least I did – sharing all my birth defects like cankles, gangly arms, a short torso… the list goes on. The point is to provide information about yourself, and your style, so that the eLUXE personal stylists can get a sense of what to pull from the store that will look great on you.

Jennifer hit the nail on the head. When I arrived at the eLUXE private showroom (which will have any fashionista salivating), she had sectioned off or “edited” as she likes to call it, about two dozen pieces including purses and shoes all in my size, just for me. And obviously, the rest of the floor was open to me as well, but I stuck to Jenn’s picks as too much variety is usually my demise.

They have a huge selection of Rebecca Minkoff purses that are to-die-for essential.

I tried on some gorgeous pieces that I would probably never pick online. Funny how perception changes. And most of those items were later on my MUST-HAVE LIST! Like the black leather t-shirt by Bailey 44, which was so soft and fit like a glove. Honestly, I’d sleep in it if I was a bit more eccentric, like the Kaiser.

And the Loeffler Randall snakeskin ballerina flats. DELICIOUS! I never wanted to take them off. As the day went on, I gravitated more and more to florals. Albeit, eLUXE has an impeccable selection of florals for Spring that have just the right amount of “girly” to them. I decided to style pastel floral Paige denim jeans with a muted floral sweatshirt by Sam & Lavi (this sweater, I heard, is a coveted piece around the eLUXE office). Added personal items like my light pastel yellow Converse sneakers and my trusty Louis Vuitton Neverfull, which has actually become an extension of my body.  Now, if this outfit isn’t Eurotrash, I just don’t know what is!

The experience at eLUXE was just so much fun, I’ve vowed to book an appointment with Jenn every season to get my hands on what’s new and trendy. I took home the Sam & Lavi muted floral sweater, and a whole new appreciation for online shopping in Toronto. eLUXE is revolutionizing the way Canadians shop fashion, both online and offline. A special thanks to the eLUXE team who welcomed me like an old friend and went above and beyond to make my experience truly memorable. XOXO Eurotrash.
