I was so ecstatic when I was asked to tag along with Marcus Kan of A la mode blog to attend the 50 Years of Bond Style: Designing 007 inaugural gala and after part-ay. What a night! We arrived on site and got passports handed to us with a, “you’re 007 agents for the night, good luck.” I was eating it up! The entire TIFF Bell Lightbox was transformed into a Bond legacy. There was the Kobo ice lounge complete with alcoholic snow cones – the only kind of snow cones that should really exist. Then there was the Goldfinger lounge, Casino Royale (we stayed away from the tables), a loading dock where you could shoot guns at your date, and so much more. The Big Sound performed Bond hits and Motown favourites. We ate, drank and were very merry.

I got my Bond girl make-up done at M.A.C. Cosmetics and my hair at Fedora’s salon. Earrings by ROXX jewellery. My clutch was designed by Nella Bella, thank you to them for making my look complete that evening! But the real showstopper that night was my vintage silk dress. I borrowed it from Your Favourite Dresses for the night. Who ever thought that renting out a dress could be the best thing I ever decided to do. I got my Elle Saab look without breaking the bank, and let me tell you, it feels so good to return the dress today because I know I could never wear it again after werq-ing the CRAP out of it that night. How can you top that?

You should all go check out the Bond exhibit at TIFF, by the way. I got to see it first (ah!), and lemme tell you, it’s everything you’d expect and more. So much movie memorabilia, diamonds, guns, costumes. Any Bond fan would love it. Check it out here
