Best friends with Miroslava Duma, who helped Vika Gazinskaya start her eponymous brand, this is one Russian you don’t want to forget. Her futuristic almost cartoon-like designs are nothing like I’ve ever seen before. If I had to sum up her collection in one word: Graceful.

The clouds, the 3D embellishments, the asymmetrical cuts and wildly obtuse shapes. They sing to me. Her countryside appeal and nod to the 50s and 60s, the good ole days. She is like a taste of pre-Wintour Vogue riding on the Orient Express. She’s the kind of girl who becomes her brand but in an good, infectious way. No vanity. Just fashion. If fashion could ever not be vain, it would be Vika Gazinskaya.

And of course, her belief in being original is oh-so Eurotrash.

I only hope her designs don’t become one of those overexposed pieces on every clotheshorse in the business, because although that would be great for business, it would probably be heartbreaking for me. I’d like just to see a glimpse of it, something special in the background that you know nothing about.
