This past Thursday we gathered at 688 Richmond St, the location of Pinky’s Nail Salon, for their opening party. Well, technically they’ve been open all summer but now was the time to celebrate initial success and finger-licking nail art! Owner, Lizzie Renaud is also the mastermind behind Speakeasy tattoo shop on Harbord; she did my owl tattoo last summer, in case you didn’t know. At Pinky’s, her nail technicians are highly specialized, and most have backgrounds in fine art or have a very VERY sick obsession with nails. I use sick in the good way.
