Secret Models first Friday night at The Ossignton
Well hello there, readers. Long time no see. June is always a hiatus month here on eurotrash – between birthdays, weddings, postage strikes and dj nights I rarely have time to blog, let alone tumble. So I’ve come to update ya’ll on what this particular June 2011 has brought your favourite fashionista.
Not Toms. Obsessed with the slipper-esque city shoe I had envisioned spending my entire summer wearing an array of patterns and colours – even textures (check out the sequins Toms) – on my feet. Paycheque in hand, I proceeded to try on every single style and proceeded to cry. My sister, onlooking, shook her head vehemently as I slid in and out of each pair: “No, absolutely not, J. I gotta be honest with you. They accentuate your cankles (giggle)”. It’s an on-going joke slash real life truth with me and my cankles. The minute a shoe makes me look like a cankle-bitch (WEEDS reference, god bless Kevin Nealon) I drop it like it’s hot. Turns out I’m not the only one who looks awful in these gorgeous shoes. Emilia (co-founder of this blog) said the same thing to me last night after having tried on a few earlier that day. There’s only one thing left to conclude: Toms are not eurotrash.
Our room at Hotel Ocho – the newest boutique hotel in Toronto that is now my home away from home.
Another update. Eurotrash is a proud iPhone user, finally. After many searches and Mike Bullard shout-outs I can now spend my days and nights trying to beat my boyfriend at Cut the Rope. It’s just so great. I am particularly excited to use it on my upcoming trip to Europe! I can blog and tumble from the beaches of Saint Raphael and within the walls of the Uffizi. Stay tuned!
What else, what else….. Oh, my Nasty Gal dress arrived – 3 days after the wedding. I know you’re all dying to know what I wore. It may come of no surprise that I raided Mirella’s closet day-of and picked out an Apple Red DKNY sheath dress, paired it with black snake-skin Herve Leger heels and a YSL clutch. Much to my chagrin, I regret not having taken a picture of my full outfit because I was too hung-up on what I could’ve been wearing had Canada Post not gone on strike.
Last but not least a new chapter has been added to the Owl tattoo. I really think Lizzy at Speakeasy Tattoos in Toronto is one of the city’s best artists. She’s fast, fun and super talented.
