My jet-set friend, Laur aka Midge, has broadened my retail horizons once again with her style updates from Singapore. Apparently there’s this entire shopping road called “Orchard” yeah, where double-decker flagship stores for everything from Armani to Y-3 grow. According to Laura it puts 5th Avenue to shame, which means god only knows what it does to Bloor Street. Here in Toronto manholes and cranes stand-in for the meticulously pruned hedges. I mean really, how many times can the Calvin Klein Underwear store move 2 doors down before we’re satisfied, hmm?
