There are some shows that stick out in my mind from my first LGFW experience last April. Brandon Dwyer’s Manichean collection is one such memorable runway show because it played with the good girl/bad girl dichotomy that (don’t lie) us girls often face when getting dressed up. It only takes half an inch for a mini skirt to go from sexy to slutty and what about that rule: show either cleavage or leg but never both…! A balancing act no less, Dwyer tightroped down the middle contrasting pretty pastel and soft lines with cuts that violated the half an inch rule.

This season the models scrapped their bleach blonde wigs and went au natural for Spring. Most of the reviews called this collection a garden party of sorts. I can agree with that: oversized hats, blush tones, frills and artsy patterns are certainly the fare to pair with a white wine spritzer. However, I like the BASCH SS2011 collection because it’s still just as sexy as his FW2010. I think every garden party needs a little Tia Carrere-style mischief.
